Why “Tired Old Email Marketing” Still Rocks The Metrics

Why “Tired Old Email Marketing” Still Rocks The Metrics If you can even spell online marketing you have to be well aware of the fact that mobile devices are conquering the entire email industry faster than Alexander The Great sweeping through the Middle East. This massive revolution in favor of mobile email opens has caused countless companies to scramble in order to concoct marketing strategies which cater to the newly mobile email subscriber. Crafting your brand’s identity today is all about ensuring that your overall strategy is mobile-centric, so we are all now invariably committed to the world of apps, mobile optimizations, and push notifications. However, this quantum shift in primary platform of delivery does not necessarily mean that you have to abandon your time-honored and proven email marketing strategies. The platforms may change but the basic tenets of email marketing never do!

The No Nos of No-Reply Emails

Aug 25 2014, 03:00 AM by

The No Nos of No-Reply Emails In my corner of the continent global warming has truly reared its ugly head this year as we have had temperatures well above not just normal but beyond living memory right through the summer. Faced with such Death Valley level temps I purchased a portable air conditioner just to try to survive. It worked well for about six weeks then suddenly made a frightful noise like an 18-wheeler at 90 mph with 17 flat tires then blew out the circuit breaker. Given the big box store where I purchased it has a 30 day return policy, I contacted the manufacturer… and thus began the endless, frustrating, and outright maddening “no-reply email loop.”

Learning To Live With Canada’s Draconian CASL Email Regulations

Learning To Live With Canada’s Draconian CASL Email Regulations The Canadian Anti Spam Legislation (CASL) went into effect on the first day of July of this year and ever since has been responsible for the development of considerable migraines among email marketers with Canadian clients… which is just about all of us! What CASL does even to a greater degree than the already extremely restrictive legislation in place in the European Union, is to effectively prohibit the contact of anyone for any reason without previously obtaining their implied or direct consent to receive a commercial electronic message. While the intent of this legislation is to provide the Canadian government with powerful legal tools to use against spammers, the new law has also caught an inordinate number of legitimate email marketers in a Great White Northern Trap.

Obtaining High Email Permission Rates In A Mobile World

Aug 12 2014, 03:00 AM by

Obtaining High Email Permission Rates In A Mobile World Email technology is now universally accepted and although it may seem to be a more staid and conservative marketing strategy as compared to the trendy "channel of the month," the key to email's effectiveness is indeed its widespread acceptance among your customer base. The tipping point between computer and mobile device email access is finally here, as the latest reports demonstrate that just as many emails are now opened on mobile devices as they are on the more traditional desktop and laptop computers. Unless your brand is leveraging to the extreme every possible way to entice and engage your email subscribers, including incentives to download that all important app, you're missing out on the entire mobile email revolution.

Crafting Effective Cart Abandonment Emails

Aug 11 2014, 06:00 AM by

Crafting Effective Cart Abandonment Emails A report issued recently in the United Kingdom entitled Behavioural Email Study has discovered a fact which is so against all of the best practices which are widely acknowledged to form the core of email marketing that it truly may seem difficult if not impossible to believe. Fully 93% of the major retail brands polled do not utilize the most simple and basic of all behavioral targeting triggers to secure online sales: They do not send abandoned cart emails! How can it be possible that only 7% of these brands even try to recover the astounding 85% of all sales which bleed away through the problem of abandoned carts when it would seem to any experienced online marketer that it is absolutely fundamental to the entire ecommerce paradigm?
