Can I email contacts from the business cards that I have collected at trade shows?

If you have told the business card owner that you will be in contact, and will be sending them email communications, you have permission. If you did not suggest either verbally or in a signup sheet that you will contact them, you do not have permission.

If you collected business cards more than a year ago, we recommend that you do not send to those contacts. Also, if you haven't been in touch with contacts for more than six months, we recommend that you reconfirm your permission to email them.
