How do I insert a video into my emails?
To insert a video into your emails, you can use a video you've placed in your own Benchmark Email Video Gallery or by using the embed code of videos on YouTube, Blip.tv or Vimeo.
Here's how you do it:
- Go to the portion of the email you'd like to place the image in.
- Click on the EDIT icon
.
- Under Insert Additional Elements, click on the VIDEO link
.
- In the video selection screen you'll see thumbnails of the videos you've uploaded into your gallery. To use one of these videos, click on the thumbnail and then click on INSERT.
To use a video from
YouTube,
Vimeo or
Blip.TV in your Video Gallery / Video Selection, you can copy the URL of the video and paste it in the
IMPORT box.
The video is not actually embedded in your email. This is because the email clients would flag the email as spam if your email contains scripts and embed tags. Benchmarkemail overcomes this problem by using a screenshot of the video and a link on it. When the recipient clicks on the image to play the video, the recipient is taken to a web version of the email with the video in it. The video will play in the browser within your email layout.
