What is an Image URL and how do I find the Image URL for an image I want to use in Benchmark Email?

You do not need to upload your image into the Benchmark Email image gallery in order to use it in your campaigns, although we do recommend using the image gallery when possible. To use a photo stored outside of Benchmark Email, you will need to get the image URL (web address), which almost always ends with JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP. Keep in mind that the image URL does not usually match the web address of the page where the image appears.

To get the URL for the online image you'd like to use in Benchmark Email:

For Firefox:
  1. Open a browser window and go to the page containing the image you want to use in Benchmark Email.
  2. Move your mouse over the image and right-click the mouse button.
  3. Select Copy Image Location or View Image Info.
For Internet Explorer:
  1. Open a browser window and go to the page containing the image you want to use in Benchmark Email.
  2. Move your mouse over the image and right-click the mouse button.
  3. Select Properties from the pop-up menu. The image's Properties dialog box displays.
  4. Copy the Address URL.
Now the image URL is in your clipboard. Here is how you will paste it into Benchmark Email:
  1. On Step 4 of the email builder, select Edit icon for the section you want to add the image to and then open the Insert Image pop-up box.
  2. Click on the tab Insert External Image.
  3. In the image Location, paste the recently copied image URL.
  4. Click the import button and click Insert.
