Windows
Server 2003 Support
nCipher has just released the latest HSM software update,
Version 7.20, which includes full support for Microsoft Windows
2003, including Windows 2003 Certificate Services and the
latest version of Microsoft's Internet Information Server,
IIS6. PKCS#11 Enhancements
Software Version 7.20 also sees the introduction of a new
Security Assurance Mechanism (SAM) technology for PKCS#11
implementations that increases security and reduces software
development and audit time. Until now the PKCS#11 interface
allowed programmers to inadvertently implement insecure solutions
- set one parameter incorrectly and someone later could extract
your key in plaintext and read all your data! nCipher's new
SAM technology automatically and dynamically checks each PKCS#11
operation and prevents those that would compromise security,
unless explicitly permissioned. The technology can be used
to provide assurance for both custom and standard off-the-shelf
products.

Topics - How customers are using nCipher |
 |
NTT
DATA Corporation have selected an Orbiscom/nCipher solution
for their CAFIS Access Control Server (ACS) ASP service, part
of the roll-out of the Verified by Visa program in Japan.
NTT DATA is using nCipher's payShield hardware security modules
to manage valuable SSL keys, XML encryption keys and XML signing
keys. This prevents attackers from gaining inappropriate access
to XML communications, combating eavesdroppers and ensuring
the integrity of information. In addition payShield is used
to protect database encryption keys to provide the highest
level of security for stored data. NTT Data recognises that
very highest level of cryptographic security is essential
for an outsourced service that must deliver the highest levels
of assurance to customers while meeting stringent service
availability requirements.
