I’d just like to let it be known that I’m a dog person. This video may lead you to believe otherwise, but that’s just not the case. However, this episode of Ask Andy is for the cat lovers out there. And the bloggers. Actually, mostly for the bloggers. It’s only fitting, given our series this week on Blogging: Marketing the Write Way. For this edition Zack T. asks, “How do I get readers to my blogs?”
This video covers just a few examples. There are many other ways in which you can attract users to your blog. Turning your focus onto SEO is one particular way. That means writing good, quality content that is properly backed up with SEO best practices. If you’re a WordPress blogger, there are several great SEO Plugins to help you do this.
You can also host events to bring new readers to your blog. If you have a brick and mortar space, you can invite attendees to a seminar to share your expertise in person. You can reference different posts on your blog during the event and also be sure to give them the links on a handout. Or, you can do a webinar or even a Google+ Hangout with similar effects.
One last tip I can offer to bring traffic to your sites is to participate in Q & A sites. One such example is Quora. People ask all sorts of questions there. You can lend your expertise and establish yourself as a credible resource for information. Then people will pay attention to your answers, and probably even find their way to your blog.
