The morning that I started at Benchmark Email, I woke up before my alarm even had a chance to go off. I had picked out my clothes the night before, taking extra care to ensure I looked my best. I was ready to make a great first impression at my new job. I felt myself uttering the old saying, “Today is the first day of the rest of my life” as I gave one final glance in the mirror.

I sat down at my desk, opened my web browser, and pulled up The more I clicked around the site, the more I thought, “What have I gotten myself into?” I was so lost. The concept of email marketing was totally foreign to me. I had never given much thought to the emails I received on a daily basis from various companies. I knew in the back of my mind I had filled out a card here, signed up with a form there, but I took the whole process for granted. That is, until I was face to face with it and realized I had some learning to do…and quick!

I can relate to your feelings of being lost or confused during the process of email marketing. Every day there is at least one person sitting at the computer thinking to themselves, “I wish I knew the answer to my question…but I don’t. Time to contact SUPPORT!” The good news is, we in the Customer Support department are here waiting for your questions! Seriously, we fight over who gets to answer the next call, chat or email. It’s quite comical. Maybe one day we’ll install a live web cam and you can watch the action take place.

But what happens if you do your best work in the middle of the night and suddenly you are stuck? As much as we’d love to be here for you at 2 AM, live help (via chat or phone) isn’t available 24/7 because, well, we sleep occasionally.

The good news? Most of your questions can be answered by links in our “Knowledge Base” section of the website. This area addresses the FAQs we have received and is easily searchable. Next time you find yourself stuck and unsure of what to do, check out the Knowledge Base section of our site. The link can be found at the bottom of our home page. Chances are you will find what you are looking for and then some.

Let’s say you want to search for information on merging email lists. You can type in “merge list” in the search field and all sections dealing with that will pop up (search section is boxed below). We frequently receive the same kind of questions and have compiled them into a sort of “Frequently asked ‘Frequently Asked Questions’” section titled Most Popular FAQs. I bet at least one or two of those would be helpful to you. Do you learn faster by watching versus reading? Take a look at our Video Tutorial section. Those came in handy during my training and I learned a lot from them. I have pointed out the section with an arrow below.
