Today has been a struggle. No, not another typical case of the Mondays. This is different. It is now Day 1 in a post Breaking Bad world. I don’t even know how to operate. I am an avid football (and fantasy football) fan and Sundays just have a little less meaning now. I have to say, Breaking Bad is officially my favorite show of all time and that series finale did nothing to diminish that. I miss it already. So, to help with those feelings, I’m dedicating this week’s playlist to the Breaking Bad Blues. Specifically, songs that feature “Blue” in the title. Two of which were featuring in memorable scenes from the show. Enjoy. We’ll get through this together. Listen and think about how as a series, Breaking Bad is one of the finest examples of storytelling that we can point to.

  • “Baby Blue” – Badfinger
  • “Crystal Blue Persuasion” – Tommy James & the Shondells
  • “Mr. Blue Sky” – Electric Light Orchestra
  • “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” – Crosby, Stills & Nash
  • “Blue Sky” – The Allman Brothers Band
  • “Devil With A Blue Dress” – Mitch Ryder
  • “Goodbye Blue Sky” – Pink Floyd
  • “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” – Bob Dylan
  • “Behind Blue Eyes” – The Who

  • “My My, Hey Hey – Out of the Blue” – Neil Young

Author Bio:

by Andy Shore

Andy Shore found his way to Benchmark when he replied to a job listing promising a job of half blogging, half social media. His parents still don’t believe that people get paid to do that. Since then, he’s spun his addiction to pop culture and passion for music into business and marketing posts that are the spoonful of sugar that helps the lessons go down. As the result of his boss not knowing whether or not to take him seriously, he also created the web series Ask Andy, which stars a cartoon version of himself. Despite being a cartoon, he somehow manages to be taken seriously by many of his readers ... and few of his coworkers.
