The new tool lets all Benchmark customers store YouTube and Google videos, drop them into their layouts, and send them to the permission-based recipients of their email marketing campaigns.
Long Beach, CA, April 6, 2009 - Benchmark Email, a leading, award-winning email marketing service, has introduced a new feature that lets customers create and send video email. As part of this new tool, customers can now insert how-to clips, personal messages, customer testimonials, product showcases and other types of videos in their email layouts, tracking click-through rates and other data in real time.
"We've heard for a long time that video email would be the next big thing when it comes to promoting products and services, but we needed to find a way to bypass the video blocking feature most email clients use," says Curt Keller, CEO of Benchmark Email. "With this new feature, customers can embed their videos in their own gallery at the Benchmark Email site, drop them right into their layouts, and send these video emails to their opt-in customers without any worry about the blocking feature."
The main roadblock with video email has always been video blocking by email service providers, which many email experts say was put in place to prevent the spread of viruses via email. With Benchmark's video email feature, opt-in subscribers receive an email in their in box featuring an image of a video player. When the customer clicks on the image to play the video, an additional browser page featuring the video opens up. This page not only showcases the email itself in its entirety, but lets the video play without any blocking issues.
The video feature is a big part of Benchmark Email's recent wholesale overhaul, which includes an all new Website with easier navigation and the introduction of a raft of new and expanded features that let customers segment their email lists, send out email surveys, archive all their emails online and create ultra-customized Signup Forms. To celebrate the new site launch, Benchmark is letting every customer use the video email feature without charging them an additional fee beyond their monthly paid plan. Customers can also test the video email feature during a free, no risk, 30-day trial.
