Decency, Dignity and Fraternity
Honoring International Human Rights Day
After the horrors of World War II, the United Nations made a promise to every citizen of the Earth, symbolized in the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Within the document, protection of the sacred, inalienable rights to freedom and respect is demanded with a stirring imperative. Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, the Declaration insures human beings of every heritage, culture and creed "freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want."
It remains a standard for individual rights to which all nations can aspire and each year a global observance is held to remind us how far we have come and how far yet we have to go. It is the most translated document in history.
This year, honor those in history or your community who have taken a stand against injustice with our Human Rights Day email template.
