Do you sell on Shopify?

If this sounds like you, you're probably still sending emails manually to your customers. Don't get us wrong, it's great that you're sending email campaigns at all. Luckily for you, there are email marketing solutions out there that make life a little easier.
Benchmark Email is one of them. We created an easier way to engage with your eCommerce customers through email marketing. With our email marketing solution and Shopify integration, you’ll be able to reach your Shopify customers with abandoned cart emails and other email marketing campaigns efficiently.
Let's get into the specifics around our email marketing Shopify integration, and how bringing your Shopify store into the fold with your email marketing tool will increase the effectiveness of your email campaigns.
Why Use Shopify?
There are many reasons for using a marketing tool like Shopify.
Shopify Provides Third-Party Credibility
Shopify is one of the largest eCommerce software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies in the world. And as such, small companies or businesses can attract a lot of customers for their product by using the platform.
Looking to expand your small business eCommerce site? Shopify is a great tool to leverage for more brand exposure and awareness. Using a large platform that has a lot of engagement, like Shopify, is just another effective way to get your brand front and center and increase sales.
Shopify is Easy to Use
You don’t need technical skills to get your store up and running on Shopify. Many brick and mortar store owners who shifted online to set up Shopify stores have gone on to sell like never before. Also, with Shopify, you don’t have to handle stuff like SEO all by yourself, as the platform provides adequate support for business owners.
Shopify Works With Other Software
Remember when we mentioned that Shopify is a SaaS platform? Well, this makes the tool easy to integrate with other SaaS tools.
By integrating with other platforms, you're able to save time and move from platform to platform with ease.
Speaking of integrations, let talk about why you should choose Benchmark Email to integrate with Shopify for your email marketing service needs.
Why Choose Benchmark Email Shopify Integration?
No Download Required
Sending abandon cart campaigns or other email communication doesn’t require Shopify store owners to download any application, tools, or resources. Navigating through our system is easy and straightforward.
You Can Add Customers With Ease
One of the biggest problems faced when using most email marketing tools is the stress of adding customers to your email list. Manually adding names to your email list takes a lot of time, and there's tons of room for human error. Unless you are meticulous with the process, the chances of entering your customers’ details incorrectly are high, which means you'll have to spend time later sifting through the data for issues to update.
A successful platform eases the process of getting customer data because the process is automated. For example, with Benchmark Email, your customer data is automatically pulled from your Shopify account and added to the email list of your choice. Whatever customer data that Shopify pulls will be automatically added to your Benchmark Email account, improving efficiency and ensuring the right information gathered.
You’ll Improve Email Engagement
The goal of all Shopify store owners is to improve their engagement and sales. No doubt, email marketing remains one of the leading mediums to promote quality engagement with customers.
Once someone purchases from you, the goal is to find various ways to continue and grow that engagement. Email marketing tactics, like drip campaigns or abandoned cart campaigns, are great for facilitating further engagement. They're personalized outreach that shows your customers how well you know them and that you understand what their needs are. By using the Shopify integration for Benchmark Email, you'll be able to send welcome, upsell, cross-sell and win-back campaigns easily, and leverage our library of email marketing templates, increasing engagement and sales over time.
It may be surprising that a powerful email marketing solution for businesses isn't expensive. Most email marketing services out there come with tons of bells and whistles, which result in accumulated costs and fees. While we do have paid packages and plans available, our email marketing service also offers a free plan to users. Therefore, the only fees associated with our Shopify email marketing integration are whatever it may cost to run your Shopify account. All Benchmark Email accounts can freely use our email integration services.

To ensure your email templates are optimized for the most success, make sure you fill them in with the details and information you know your customers want. After all, email templates, while extremely helpful, aren't a one and done solution. It's up to you to add strategic content if you want your email campaigns to have the best shot at generating more sales.
Having email templates that are clean, consistent, on-brand, and beautifully designed will make your email copy more compelling and engaging to your recipients. Aside from the well-crafted design, another benefit of using email marketing services that offer email templates is the amount of time you'll save putting together your campaigns. With the labor of creating a well-designed email halfway complete, you'll be able to quickly send your Shopify customers email marketing campaigns so there's no lag time in your nurture.
Tips For Integrating Benchmark Email With Shopify
After creating your Benchmark Email and Shopify accounts, it's time to implement the Shopify integration.
Log Into Your Shopify Account
To begin the Shopify integration process, you will be required to log in to your Shopify store account. The dashboard is the interface that grants you the opportunity to control the overall activities happening inside the account.
From the dashboard, click on Apps, which will open a new page. Navigate to the bottom of the page and select the "Manage Private Apps" option.
This will lead to a new page where you will choose to create a "New Private App."
Give your app a name, and for the sake of emergencies, you will need to enter an emergency developer email. These details will be necessary for monitoring all activities going on within your account.
Explore the Admin API Permission Section
When you get to this section, select the option to "Review Disabled Admin API Permissions." Scroll down and check the "Dropdown" option. From there, select the option to "Read and Write."
Next, move to the "Storefront API." From this section, you will activate the permission to gain access to data on your storefront from the Storefront API. Ensure you save the process before proceeding.
You can then create the app by clicking the "I understand" option and then selecting the "Create the App" option.
Upon completing the process, the Admin API section will deliver an API Key and Password that you will need to copy and keep for use in your Benchmark Email account.
Log Into Your Benchmark Email Account
Open your Benchmark Email application to complete the integration process. Select the first name option located at the top page by the right. This option will produce a dropdown. From there, select the option to "integrate." Scroll down to begin the integration process.
You will be required to input your "Shopify Store Name." In case you do not remember your store name, it is placed immediately after the HTTPS:// and before myshopify.com. It's important that you input the correct store name exactly as it reads in the URL. You will then paste the API key and password you have copied earlier to the Shopify API key and password section.
Configure Your Data From Shopify
The Shopify integration with Benchmark will require moving some crucial customer data. To do this, click the "import option." There are three options, so select the option that best fits your needs: (1) All customers (2) Customers who accept marketing (3) Customers who do not accept marketing.
To lift the details of customers from Shopify, use the "Select Benchmark" contact list option. You can then proceed to save and proceed to the next page.
Complete the Process
The final process involves importing your contacts from Shopify to Benchmark. Customers who have provided their details through the signup forms will be moved to the Benchmark panel. The process is automated, all you need is to monitor the process. It's likely that when integration is completed, some of your contacts will be filtered out, either because they repeatedly occur or because of incomplete details.
Note that those who have unsubscribed from your email marketing communications, as well as contacts that feature blocked domains, will also be filtered out during the importing process.
You can repeat the process when you create a new list for your customers on Shopify. This will ensure that your list is up to date and that your email marketing service is only for those interested in what you sell.
Integrating Shopify with Benchmark Email is easy. If you're a Shopify user looking for a way to nurture and engage your customers and bring abandoned cart shoppers back to your store, the Benchmark Email integration is the perfect way to generate the most sales from your Shopify contacts.
