Mobile-Friendly Holiday Email Checklist

More than half of your audience is checking emails on their phones. That means if your design isn’t mobile-friendly, you could be losing clicks (and sales) during the busiest time of year.

Today’s gift:

A simple holiday-ready checklist to make sure your campaigns look as good on mobile as they do on desktop.

The Checklist

Keep subject lines short
Aim for 35 characters or less so they don’t get cut off.
Use large, tappable buttons
Make CTAs at least 44px tall—easy to tap, even with mitten hands.
Single-column layouts work best
Simpler designs load faster and scroll more easily on mobile.
Balance text and images
Avoid giant graphics that shrink to unreadable sizes.
Use readable fonts
Minimum 14px for body text, 20px+ for headlines.
Test on multiple devices
What looks great on an iPhone might break on Android.
Watch file sizes
Compress images so emails load quickly, even on holiday Wi-Fi.

Before you hit send on your next campaign, run through this checklist—it only takes a minute but makes a big difference.
