I had one of those weekends that you need another weekend just to recover. Saturday was spent with an old friend from camp that was in town for work. I showed him and his coworker around Los Angeles for a bit, then we headed to the Dodgers game. After striking out on scalping tickets, we were heading back to our car. That’s when a friendly group offered us extra tickets they had in the all-you-can-eat section for a company outing. We saw a great game and then went out for drinks after at some of my favorite bars in LA. Sunday I headed down to Compton with a buddy for the Drew League. It’s a summer basketball league that often features NBA stars. We were treated to Kevin Durant, Metta World Peace, Javale McGee, Stephen Jackson, DeMar DeRozan, Baron Davis, Shannon Brown and several other former college stars. We capped that excursion off with Bludso’s BBQ. Needless to say I’m back at work today filled with renewed love for my (not so) new (anymore) city. Let this playlist remind you of all the great things in your own city, while you’re at your desk for these remaining summer days.
